Objectives:

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Understand the structure of Australian Occupational Health and Safety legislation and its underlying principles
  • Identify Principal legislation relevant to their workplace
  • Recognise the components of an OHSMS
  • Identify hazards and risks in the workplace and utilise hazard control methodology to manage them.
  • Understand the importance of consultation to OHS management
  • Identify OH&S training needs in the workplace
  • Understand the importance of record keeping as part of OHS management and the legislative requirement for reporting
