Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will:
- Understand what coaching is, as distinct from other types of one-on-one relationships (eg mentoring/ counselling)
- Understand the two types of coaching managers do: workplace coaching on a particular skill and coaching when someone has a problem/issue
- Identify when coaching is useful and constructive
- Understand the basic principles of learning, and how to apply these in coaching
- Be able to coach skilfully, using a disciplined process
